How It Got Started

My name is Aafiya Aslam, and I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas. For years, I have embraced roles where I could offer support, encouragement, and guidance to others. In 2017, during my sophomore year of high school, I made the intentional decision to pursue a career in healthcare. I began expressing my passion through writing—sharing my thoughts on pathology, clinical experiences, and the ways our society is impacted by healthcare, whether as patients, students, or providers. This led me to create Disease Diary, a platform where I could explore and share my curiosity, reflections, and dedication to the field of healthcare with others.
